1952 Pontiac Chieftain Catalina Hardtop - Automatic - Drives like a Dream!

“DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR, YOU CAN'T BEAT A PONTIAC!” was the slogan on the cover of Pontiac Service Craftsman News featuring the '52 new model information.

Produced by the Pontiac Motors Division of General Motors from 1949 until 1958, the Pontiac Chieftain was introduced, and became the flagship of Pontiac's full-sized automobile line. The Catalina was a name that was initially used strictly to denote hardtop body styles. Originally appearing in the 1950 Chieftain Eight and DeLuxe lines, the Catalina eventually became its own separate and unique model in 1959.

The top of the line model at the time for Pontiac, the 1950 Chieftain Hardtop, Series 25/27, was also dubbed the name Catalina. Featuring pillar-less design in both the door and window areas, along with the top-grade convertible appointments, these 'hard-top convertibles' were both airy and had a hard to resist sporty-feeling.

Rather than having a fixed-roof design, these models offered the appeal of the sport car without the drawbacks and expense that was normally associated with convertible top vehicles. From 1950 to 1958, all Pontiac hardtops were designated 'Catalina' with the exception of the 58 Bonneville hardtop. At the time of its debut, the Chieftain Hardtop was powered by a straight-8 'flathead' engine.

This particular Pontiac Chieftain Catalina Deluxe Hardtop has been thoroughly restored to a high quality standard. This life-long Southwest car was meticulously maintained, and has always lived a rust-free life.

Featuring its original 268 ci “Silver Streak 8” flathead engine, and Hydra-Matic automatic transmission; this Pontiac has all the right stuff to ensure a continuous climb upward in value. The entire drivetrain has been rebuilt with just over 2,300 miles since to prove it was done properly, and will perform flawlessly for many miles to come.

The VIN on this quality automobile decodes as follows:
P = Pontiac
8 = Eight cylinder motor
W = 1952 model year
H = Hydra-Matic transmission
75888 = Sequential Serial Number

The exterior of the car has been professionally repainted a few years ago in the correct (and original) colors of Belfast Green / Sea Mist Green. These colors match the body color #22 on the Cowl Tag located on the firewall of the car. The paint may have a couple minor chips from miles driven, but you can be assured the prep work was done properly and there won't be any lifting or bubbling on any of the sheetmetal.

The interior is in absolute excellent condition shown in the matching 2-tone vinyl to the exterior. There are no rips, tears or any signs of wear to be found from the headliner to the carpet.

This investment-quality Pontiac absolutely purrs down the road like it was 1952. Then you add some optional features like:
- Painted sun visor
- Painted fender skirts
- Front & Rear bumper guards
- Full gauge package
- Wide-White tires

To summarize; this is an absolute investment-quality automobile that does not require us to make any excuses. What you see is exactly what it is. There are no hidden issues, or buried problems for you to find later. This Pontiac has been carefully put together; road tested, and meticulously maintained. Buy with 100% confidence!
